Position Title: Water Program Manager
Department: 9073|RAC Support
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of the Regional Application Center (RAC), the Water Program Manager will maintain situational awareness across all areas of the Louisiana Army National Guard (LANG) water program and complete tasks to achieve and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the ENV Compliance Manager with the planning and budgeting STEP process concerning the water program
- Manages NetDMR for assigned water permits
- Samples water for applicable water permits; logs results and archives
- Monitors and manages water permits status and associated fees for 10 water permits; ensures compliance
- Processes Sludge reports annually
- Monitors and coordinates all National Guard Bureau (NGB)/DOD initiatives to test water for mandated requirements; processes and records IAW the guidance from NGB personnel
- Processes DOEHRS reports on a tri-annual basis
- Processes ECHO reporting requirements for NGB if they arise
- Assist in establishing requirements for contracts in relation to water permits (i.e. PACE contract)
- Notifies Compliance Manager of any and all illicit discharges or permit violations
- Investigates drinking water complaints as needed
- Ensures RCs conduct monthly/semiannually sampling within their assigned region
- Maintain open line of communication with LDEQ personnel
- Complete any NGB G9 initiatives required by the Compliance Branch Mg
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with a major in one of the following scientific fields: agronomy, environmental sciences, geosciences, soil sciences, geology, or a related field.
- One of the following:
- Five (5) years of professional level scientific/technical environmental experience
- Professional level environmental training in the following areas: CWA, NPDES Permits, DOEHRS, Water Sampling, and NetDMR
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient technical writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
