Position Summary | TheUniversity of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry andBehavioral Sciences, is looking for an experienced, dynamic, self-motivatedindividual to serve its accounting team as an Accountant 3. Theselected candidate will have demonstrated experience working with federal,state, and non-profit contracts and grants. Our Accountant 3 will supervise,train, and oversee the team’s day-to-day accounting operations, maintaininternal controls, research and problem solve budgets, procurement, billing,and expenditure issues. This position will participate in a variety of budgetand financial meetings involving department leaders, sponsors, and externalstakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated andresponsive with exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent organizationalskills, and the ability to establish priorities and complete projects on time.Being a team player, demonstrating excellent verbal/written communicationskills, and having the ability to work independently as well as overseeing thework of others is essential. Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is a large, complex department whichprovides excellent, innovative education to residents, medical students, andhealth professionals; the highest quality clinical mental health care to thecitizens of New Mexico; and pursues outstanding multidisciplinary research thathelps solve important health problems. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. |
