Job Summary:
Varcode is a market leader in innovative temperature monitoring products and technology. The Account Executive will drive company revenue by managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship building to securing and onboarding new Customers. Success in this role requires an in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products and the ability to convey their value to prospective clients effectively.
Description:
The Account Executive is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to secure new business and grow existing accounts. Key duties include fostering strong client relationships, addressing inquiries, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction. Additionally, the role involves providing market feedback to internal teams, meeting performance goals, and adhering to Varcode’s standards of professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively solicit new business to meet and exceed sales goals
- Build and maintain relationships with existing accounts through regular contact and exceptional service
- Identify and capture new opportunities with current customers
- Follow up on past due accounts receivable to ensure timely payments
- Monitor and address customer specifications for specific orders to ensure satisfaction
- Assist in preparing annual sales budget forecasts and reports
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain and update the Varcode CRM platform to track leads and opportunities
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Experience in Supply Chain sales, particularly with respect to Cold Chain, is strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of chemistry and physics preferred, but not necessary
- Minimum two years outside sales experience or equivalent related experience combined with relevant college coursework
- Five years experience in relevant industries preferred
- Familiarity with CRM systems
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, and ability to travel as needed for business purposes
- Proven experience in prospect sourcing and lead generation
Work Environment and Requirements:
- Work Environment: Reliable home office with high-speed internet
- Technology: Proficiency in using remote communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce) and a computer with required software installed
- Availability: Regular working hours aligned with company and client schedules, with responsiveness for virtual and in-person meetings, calls, and communications
- Travel: As required for client meetings, industry events, and team gatherings as needed
- Self-Management: Strong time management and organizational skills
- Communication: Consistent, clear communication with clients, team members, and management to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
