Background:
Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) offers a comprehensive summer internship program for students and recent graduates looking to learn more about the overall business and restaurant operations within the hospitality industry.
The 2025 Summer Internship Program will be offered in the following restaurants and departments:
Restaurant Operations: Ci Siamo, Daily Provisions, Gramercy Tavern, Manhatta (Restaurants), Manhatta (Events), New York Marriott Marquis, Porchlight, The Modern, and Union Square Cafe.
Departments: Beverage Operations, Facilities, Finance, Food Safety, Guest Experience, Hospitality Quotient, Human Resources/Training, Legal, Marketing/Public Relations, Real Estate/Business Development, and Technology.
What to Expect:
The 2025 Summer Internship Program is designed to provide exposure to all facets of restaurant operations or a specific department within USHG. On this application, you will have the opportunity to select a specific restaurant or department you are interested in working with.
- If you select an option within "Restaurant Operations”, you’ll spend the summer at a single restaurant location, learning a variety of roles that contribute to its daily success. This could include rotating between positions like Server, Runner, Barista, Prep Cook, and Line Cook to gain hands-on experience in different aspects of the restaurant.
- If you select an option within "Departments”, you’ll spend the summer within one specialized department, focusing on a specific area of our business, such as Marketing, Finance, or HR, which support all restaurants under the USHG brand.
A summer with USHG will provide a solid foundation of knowledge about the hospitality industry and leave you feeling well informed to make decisions about where your path might lead on your journey to a career in hospitality.
In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, each intern will be expected to share their overall internship experience at a final roundtable with leaders of USHG. There will also be a capstone project that will be assigned and presented towards the end of the program.
Duration, Requirements and Opportunities:
The USHG Internship Program begins on June 2nd and ends on August 8th. Interns are required to be available through the duration of the program, attend all scheduled events, and commit to 32 - 40 hours per week. Please note that schedules may include nights and weekends.
Interns will be exposed to a variety of events throughout the program to provide knowledge of different aspects of our business and allow for networking opportunities with both fellow interns and current USHG employees.

Pay
All internship positions are paid. The rate is $18-20/hr.

Please note that EHS is not affiliated with USHG, and any housing expenses will be at the intern’s own cost.
