SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Food & Beverage, the Seasonal Food & Beverage Manager is a key member of the food and beverage team, assisting with all day-to-day operations with a focus on training and supervising all food and beverage associates to ensure a high level of service is consistently received at Vasari Country Club.

SEASON/HOURS/DAYS

Season begins October 2024 - April 2025. Hours and days fluctuate according to the wants and needs of the members and guests. Holidays, Weekends and Nights are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists with inventory at the end of the month for beer, wine, and liquor and at the end of the year for china and glassware and during closures in June and August.
  • Assists with onboarding and training for each new team member.
  • Assists with the development of on-going training programs for all food and beverage team members.
  • Oversees that the restaurant is clean, well-stocked and organized. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies.
  • Oversees clean-up and closing duties.
  • Administers the daily opening and closing of computer procedures and guest check review.
  • Takes dining reservations and checks table reservation schedules/floor plans.
  • Greets and seats members and guests, ensures member/guest satisfaction.
  • Carefully supervises to help ensure proper service; pours coffee and takes orders when necessary.
  • Ensures all side work is accomplished and all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed. Creates/updates closing procedure side work forms.
  • Directs pre-shift meetings with dining room team to ensure smooth, efficient service. Relays information and policy changes and briefs team members. Creates server assignments and coordinates accurate setups, timing, and service with Operations, Food & Beverage, and Culinary Teams.
  • Handles member/guest complaints and problems with professionalism, understanding and poise.
  • Assists in resolving problems between service staff and the kitchen team members.
  • Assists with scheduling for all Food & Beverage positions.
  • Diagrams buffet tables, guest tables and other function room set-up needs for special events and regular dining.
  • Assist in the preparation of the marketing plan and annual budget to increase the profitability of the food & beverage operation; monitors performance against budgets; recommends corrective action as necessary to help ensure that budget goals are met.
  • Ensures proper inventory of all service equipment and supplies to meet required needs.
  • Posts event set-up, floor diagram, BEO, buffet diagram and timeline for staff.
  • Monitors employee dress code.
  • Performs Clubhouse opening and closing duties, including those related to security.
  • Interacts with members answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services, taking reservations, and showing the club facilities to visitors.
  • Attends management and staff meetings when assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

College degree preferred; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Office, Power Point, and Publisher. Ability to learn the Club Essential Software and Jonas through training and the ability to implement the knowledge obtained through that training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic accounting and math computations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to organize and prioritize assigned projects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires work performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Indoor activities include sitting or standing for long period of time, reading, writing, verbal communication and operating office equipment. Exposure to variable and adverse weather conditions. Active, physical work involving carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching and walking long distances. Must be able to work long hours during the season.

The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust/focus.
