We are currently recruiting for a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor to cover 3rd shift at our Tipton Plant.
Job Summary
The maintenance supervisor is the person primarily responsible for ensuring that all production equipment and building and grounds facilities are operating at maximum efficiency. The supervisor must ensure that all mechanics are properly trained and adhere to all quality, safety and personal hygiene practices at all times. The supervisor will report to the plant Maintenance Director. The supervisor will have nine shift mechanics, a lead person, a yard clean up person, reporting directly to him/or her.
The supervisor must be willing to work any shift including weekends and holidays. The normal schedule for this position will include Saturdays and Sundays. In the absence of this position, the Plant Maintenance Director will perform these job duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor or the supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Train mechanics in the safe, quality-oriented discharge of their respective duties.
- Provide the maintenance department with a daily and weekly schedule to ensure proper support for operations.
- Ensure that a preventative maintenance program is instituted to allow for maximum uptime of equipment and minimize downtime.
- Promote safety in the department and ensure that all maintenance personnel adhere to all safety regulations including the wearing of all personal protective equipment.
- Confer with the plant manager and shift supervisors on a regular basis to resolve maintenance issues.
- Provide written and oral positive and constructive feedback to employees on a regular basis to improve individual employee performance.
- Coordinate with human resources to resolve employee relations issues and administer corrective action as necessary.
- Utilize and optimize CMMS work order program.
- Ensure that all maintenance personnel follow all food safety and personal hygiene practices.
- Maintain tool and parts room inventories at acceptable levels to meet plant demands.
- Act professionally towards customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, large ERP applications and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of motors, pumps, ammonia systems, compressors, and food processing equipment.
- The ability to organize one’s thoughts, plans and proposals in both an oral and written format.
- The ability to train and motivate direct reports to achieve excellent results.
- Working knowledge of plc’s and industrial refrigeration technology is a major plus.
- At least two years of maintenance leadership experience in a citrus or food processing environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Engineering, or the equivalent, on the job experience.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure a must.
- 80% of the time will be spent in a plant manufacturing environment walking, climbing stairs or ladders etc.
- 20% of the time will be spent in a normal office environment at a desk working with a computer.
- Required to have cell phone access 24/7.
Compensation
Range: $72,183 - $80,000 annually (bonus potential for achieving performance goals.)
Salary offers will vary and will be determined by the candidate’s work experience, education, skills, and certifications.
