Overview:We are currently seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics and transportation, possess strong analytical skills, and be proficient in various dispatch systems.

The Planner/Dispatcher at VHI Express is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the daily operations of our transportation and logistics services. This role involves scheduling deliveries, dispatching drivers, and ensuring timely and efficient service to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage and oversee daily dispatch operations, including coordinating and scheduling transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries and optimal route planning.

· Dispatch drivers with accurate instructions, monitor delivery progress, and adjust plans to address any issues or delays.

· Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure efficient and effective service, resolving any delivery-related inquiries or issues.

· Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, deliveries, driver logs, and other relevant information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).

· Analyze operational data to identify and implement efficiency improvements.

· Train and mentor dispatch team members, managing truck drivers’ schedules, routes, and reviewing driver logs.

· Handle customer complaints and inquiries and collaborate with the customer service team.

· Prepare bids, negotiate rates, and delivery timelines, and run and review credit applications for new customers.

· Create new customer profiles, complete Carrier Packets, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience in a dispatch or logistics role, preferably within the transportation industry, minimum 2 years.

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Proficiency in using dispatch and routing software.

· Ability to work under pressure and make quick, effective decisions.

· Familiarity with transportation regulations and safety standards.

· Proficient in MS office, particularly excel, outlook and quick learner.

· High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or transportation is a plus.

Shift Hours:

The position operates on a regular shift schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. Overtime may be required, subject to prior approval by the department head.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
