Job Summary : Responsible for patient care under supervision of a licensed physical therapist or occupational physician.
Involved in the Onsite Athletic Training programs, participation in the coverage of onsite prevention services, injury triage and prevention training onsite for our designated customers.
Designs and implements specific prevention programs for rehabilitation of the injured workers.
Essential Functions
- Create an environment that is consistent with the VibrantCares and our Onsite customers values and objectives.Employ initiative and ingenuity to the Onsite Industrial Athletic Training Program.Performs, without interpretations, selected measurement procedures such as Jamar grip strength testing, range of motion, gross strength of muscle groups, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs.
Applying first aide triage and red flag principles as indicated by employee presentation.Advocate appropriate ergonomic and body mechanic changes needed for worker safety thru job coaching.Develop early intervention and preventative programs.Utilize and offer educational services to employees to reduce worker injuries.Assists, as part of the onsite customers Safety Committee management team, in strategic planning and implementation of worker safety programs.Establish rapport with onsite managers and operators to enhance employee compliance with preventative measures to reduce worker injuries.Consult with operations managers to verify status of injured workers on modified duty.Modifies intervention procedures as indicated by patient response within limits of specified first aide and OSHA guidelines.
Reports verbally and in writing such modifications to the licensed physical therapist, occupational health professional or safety professional onsite.Documents patient response to interventions on the training log and tracks appropriate metricsidentified by Onsite customer.Assures the employee is referred to the medical clinic at the appropriate intervals based on ATC practice act.
Additional Responsibilities : Assists when necessary with Wellness Center policies and procedures regarding symptom intervention forms, reporting documents and monthly reporting logs.Assists with training programs, seminars or classes to develop staff and orient new employees as directed by Lead ATC or COD.Housekeeping duties as determined by the particular setting and outlined by supervisor.Equipment and supply maintenance as determined by the setting and outlined by supervisor.Supervises, equips, and maintains an athletic training room and to put such facilities to their optimal usefulness.Equips, maintains, and provides first aid kits and safety equipment at athletic events or appropriate onsite functions.Assists in the inventory and purchasing of athletic training supplies.Provides in-service instruction for employees, managers and safety professionals and other interested individuals in care and prevention of industrial injuries.Enhances clinical skills and knowledge by pursuing educational opportunities.Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities : Demonstrates an awareness of various factors influencing the financial viability of the clinic.Able to assist in the development of marketing strategies, brochures and other materials which lie within the ATCs area of clinical expertise.Able to assist with identifying and contacting physician and other referral sources to promote VibrantCare healthcare services accordingly.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift patients using biomedical techniques frequently throughout the course of a work day / shift; must be capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds of weight alone.Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during a work day / shift.Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction.Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community.Fine motor skills adequate for scheduling and preparing patients, equipment, and supplies for treatment.Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in duration in accordance with state labor laws.
Required Credentials : BS Degree required.Minimum one year clinical experience.National Athletic Trainers Association certification.Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
