Title: Director of Emergency Services
Location: Sanford, NC
Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 annually
Incentive: $10,000 Commitment Incentive, paid quarterly during the first year of employment
Must-Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in North Carolina or compact state required.
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience (Manager role or above) in an Emergency Department within the last 5 years.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Master’s degree (e.g., MSN, MHA) preferred.
- Experience working in a community hospital Emergency Department preferred.
Job Description:
The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for organizing, directing, and supervising the clinical and procedural functions within the Emergency Department. This role ensures compliance with policies and procedures, maintains safe staffing levels, and oversees adequate supplies and equipment. The Director will manage efficient patient throughput and lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the department budget.
The Director fosters ongoing quality and performance improvement, promotes professional development for staff, and ensures the completion of required competencies. This role also includes communicating essential updates to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and other administrative team members as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Staff development and promoting evidence-based clinical practices.
- Managing personnel resources and ensuring productivity.
- Fiscal management of the department.
- Driving initiatives for patient quality, safety, and performance improvement.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance and preparedness.
The Emergency Department consists of 14 rooms, with a renovation underway to expand to 20 rooms, expected to be completed by December 2025.
