The Medical Staff/CME Coordinator designs and conducts educational programs for medical staff as well as performs credentialing responsibilities in an expeditious manner to bring on new physicians and allied health professionals (practitioners), maintain current practitioner status and to report concerns about the hospital's liability with credentials issues.

- Designs and conducts educational programs for medical staff. Plans, executes and manages all CME activities for medical staff.
- Identify and define the educational needs of the medical staff and ensure that CME topics reflect these educational needs.
- Ensure promotional announcements are created and distributed in advance of every presentation.
- Arrange for audiovisual equipment and refreshments for presentations.
- Ensure certification is complete for all participants.
- Performs credentialing responsibilities in an expeditious manner to bring on new physicians and allied health professionals (practitioners)
- Maintain current practitioner status and to report concerns about the hospital's liability with credentials issues.
- Communicate well, both with team members, practitioners, all levels of hospital staff and multiple outside agencies (i.e. state, federal, insurance, etc.).
- Processes requests for, and monitors duration of, temporary privileges in accordance with medical staff bylaws.
- Provides technical and administrative support to the credentials committee and the medical staff committees and informal (respectively) peer review activities and any other committee as required.
- Performs the re-credentialing/privilege delineation activities in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws to assure that only qualified practitioners continue to provide care at Vista Health.
- Maintains personal adherence to professional confidentiality standards
- Updates physician information in hospital information systems, respond to verification requests, and perform file audits
- Assures regulatory compliance with The Joint Commission and all other regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- At least three years of CMS experience
