Job Title: BAS Field Technician / Controls Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BAS Field Technician / Controls Specialist to join our team at the W.J. O’Neil Company. As a BAS Field Technician / Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems (BAS) and controls in commercial and industrial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-site project leader to execute and complete HVAC controls and other Building Automation System (BAS) projects with assigned customers in a safe and cost-effective manner.
- Performs or delegates tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects including system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, training and project closeout
- Install and configure BAS equipment, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and network devices
- Program and commission BAS systems to meet customer specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on BAS equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with BAS systems and controls, and implement necessary repairs.
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to complete projects on time and within budget
- Provide training and support to customers on the operation and maintenance of BAS systems.
- Manages and completes the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required.
- Validates complete system functionality and resolves issues with subcontractors and others to ensure proper operation.
- Provides accurate project as-built and commissioning documentation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in installing and maintaining BAS systems and controls
- Strong technical skills in building automation, HVAC systems, and controls programming
- Knowledge of industry standards and protocols including some of the following: BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, and/or LON
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
