What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quarry Production Manager position at Warren Paving, Inc.?
This position should specifically focus on optimization of plant processes and support of supervisors to execute processes. The Production Manager should regularly work with quarry supervisors to coach and train them on efficient production practices while maintaining alignment with the companys long-term goals and objectives, such as maintaining a safe workplace and well-maintained equipment.

- Oversee day-to-day production and provide support to Supervisors to sustain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.
- Ensure that all required safety processes and procedures are being followed. This requires coordination with our Safety Department, through regular communication and in alignment with our company goal of maintaining a safe workplace and zero citation inspections.
- Review aggregate production reports and gradation results daily and follow-up with supervisors as needed to ensure various maintenance and production goals are achieved.
- Executes the mine and haul activities per written extraction plans, maps, and cross sections.
- Work with Supervisors and Quarry Manager to ensure proper maintenance plans are in place and being executed, as well as identifying future major equipment repairs.
- Coordinate with Supervisors to provide proper training on all equipment. This could include annual refresher training programs on mobile equipment operation, crusher maintenance and inspections, conveyor maintenance and operation, log and/or screw maintenance, and screen maintenance.
- Review engineering drawings and work with Quarry Manager to provide feedback on proposed modification/upgrades/new construction will meet the intended goals.
- Enforce company policies and hold Supervisors and/or hourly employees accountable to set goals and objectives.
- Work with Quarry Manager to ensure that all operations are operating in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Occasional on-site weekend or night availability to manage different crews and tasks.
- Associates degree preferred.
- Education may be substituted for experience.
- Five (5) plus years experience in open pit mining and supervisory experience (processing plants, pit development, quality control, barge loading).
- Ability to identify and enforce all aspects of MSHA safety standards.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Knowledge of and compliance with county, state and federal policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Extended training in and experience with management, office procedures, heavy equipment and machinery in various mining applications.
- Skills in customer relations and problem solving.
- Ability to dissect complex situations and determine the most cost-effective solution.
- Ability to provide strong leadership to supervisors and motivate to achieve various production goals with optimal efficiency. Will have direct contact with supervisor and shift leadmen on multiple crews.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or listen.
- The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
