What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gastroenterology Technician position at Waterbury Hospital?
Assist physician with endoscopy procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Place patient on non-invasive monitoring equipment which may include pulse oximetry and blood pressure monitoring. Prepare endoscopy rooms and equipment for use and assist in the collection of specimens during procedures.
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician program or comparable program. Experience with upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures preferred.
