Position Availability:
Waukee High School - Assitant Principal
Northwest High School - Assistant Principal
Prairieview School - Assistant Principal
Position Criteria:
- Valid Iowa K-12 Administrative license
- Master's degree in Education related field
- Evaluator Approval Certification
Performance Criteria:
- Developing meaningful relationships with all stakeholders (all staff, students, families, district employees, community members) to ensure climate and culture of high expectations, high standards, supportive environment of success for all
- Discipline – manage student behavior and consequences for roughly 1,100 students.
- Assist Principal with Certified Evaluations & Walk Throughs
- Attendance – work with secretaries to monitor communication home, plan student conferences, contact parents, and assign discipline.
- Supervision during non-school hours includes all HS academics, activities & athletics on school grounds shared amongst the 4 administrators, depending on how many people/students plan to show up to the event.
- Special Education – support students and staff to ensure educational opportunities, success, and compliance with State and Federal Law.
- 504 – support students and staff to ensure educational opportunities, success, and compliance with State and Federal Law.
- Professional Development of teaching staff – working in collaboration with administrative team, counselors and Instructional Coaches
- Advisory – Plan and implement our weekly Advisory (homeroom) curriculum.
- Registration – coordinate course registration with administrative and counseling staff.
- Mentors in Violence Prevention – manage and implement a leadership program designed to empower students to be leaders in our building regarding violence of all kinds.
- Testing – coordinate all State and National testing for Waukee High School students including ISASP, ACT, PSAT.
- Parking – work with campus monitors, secretaries, and students to ensure parking guidelines are being followed.
- In school supervision, safety and security – passing periods, lunch, before and after school.
- Search and Seizure – ensure student safety by investigating students that may have weapons, drugs, or banned substances.
- Leadership Teams – participate in and support building leadership teams focused on diversity, student family connections, overall health and wellness, and equity.
- Hires associates, campus monitors, secretaries, & additional support staff in their building.
- Attend annual conferences/rounding as part of the certified professional growth cycle/evaluations
