Job Summary

The Global Product Manager manages Wego’s product lifecycle that enables marketing and sales of products in global markets. The Global Product Manager role is a key member of the commercial organization connecting and supporting sales, procurement, strategy, and supply chain. As Global Product Manager, job duties include, but are not limited to, managing the existing product portfolio for the vertical, identifying new global markets, new products, developing go to market strategies, maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating supply contracts, designing and implementing pricing strategy, and supporting sales strategies to meet the business goals of the company.


This position requires a deep understanding of the chemical market for hydraulic fracturing, production chemicals, and cementing raw materials required for formulation as well as a thorough knowledge of current supply chain and raw material usage to develop a strategic go-to-market approach. This includes identifying product mix, optimizing inventory requirements, new product development, and the ability to balance competing and dynamic priorities of suppliers, customer base, organizational stakeholders, and industry trends.


Responsibilities

  • Be the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for all things product – pricing, costing, demand, supply, trends, inventory planning and working capital decisions
  • Maintain lifecycle of existing product lines and ensure achievement of all annual and quarterly objectives. Influence the industry team including sales, procurement, product team towards achieving budgeted targets
  • Work with procurement teams to develop and manage supply relationships to ensure competitive pricing and reliable, high-quality supply for all global markets
  • Coordinate with product management teams and assist to prepare product plans and go to market strategies to increase sales, set appropriate pricing and analyze ROI.
  • Train sales teams around the product portfolio and attend sales calls with the team as required.
  • Keep abreast with all market and competitive trends and dynamics to use information and insights to make sound business decisions
  • Lead cross functional root cause and mitigation efforts in the event of challenges based in the product portfolio
  • Analyze global market trends and needs for the development of new product opportunities with scalable applications.
  • Prepare strategic plans for various market launches
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing regarding relevant aspects of trade shows.


Key Qualifications

  • 7 years plus experience in product management in the chemical/ oil and gas industry
  • Experience in utilizing marketplace business drivers, strategies, and tactics to inform decisions
  • Ability to lead and influence cross functional team to rally behind company objectives
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and tactical implementation skills; proven analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable plans
  • Possess very strong financial acumen essential for market and competitive evaluation, pricing, and product line management
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence our internal and external stakeholders - suppliers, managers, and intra-company departments with both excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS OFFICE, SFDC applications.
  • Business or Engineering Degree or master’s degree in a chemical field.
