What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist/Receptionist position at Weirton Medical Center?
Phlebotomists obtain blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients; Phlebotomists prepare specimens properly to enable medical technologists to conduct analysis which aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of infections or diseases. PHlebotomists perform general office duties regarding laboratory department activities; answers telephones. Phlebotomists distribute reports to authorized personnel.
Phlebotomist qualification:
Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent. Specialized training program in medical terminology and phlebotomy procedures preferred.
Three months to one year experience in laboratory procedures related to collection of blood specimens.
