Finishing Supervisor (HFW mill)

Welspun has immediate openings for Shift Supervisor – Finishing (HFW Plant).

Welspun’s Little Rock facilities are state-of-the-art and one of its kind in technology for producing pipes for the oil and gas industry. The HFW mill is a fully automatic and integrated mill capable of producing pipes ranging in diameter 6 5/8th inches to 20” and wall thickness from 0.158” to 0.551”.

Job Summary: Responsible for effective execution of production plan, optimizing waste, productivity, production delays, process monitoring, machine condition monitoring and preventive maintenance. Also responsible for providing feedback to forming and welding for quality of pipe.

Ideal Candidate will have the following Skills:

· Follow plan for size change over, set values for pipe expander, hydro testing pressure, beveling, NDT, final inspection for optimum productivity and quality with minimum waste.

· Ensure production targets are achieved in case of down time.

· Monitor all quality and productivity related to process parameters in order to achieve optimum results.

· Monitor hydro testing graph, calibration of pressure gauges, & NDT station calibrations per quality requirements.

· Effectively utilize direct variable and semi variable consumption monitoring and controlling. Analyze consumption pattern and order consumables and trace corrective and preventive actions.

· Improve the quality of product, process and system by imparting related knowledge to staff and workmen.

· Achieve production targets, analyze quality related issues; implement preventive and corrective action in consultation and coordination with maintenance, NDT lead, finishing specialist and final inspection lead person.

· Prepare DPR, down time report and coordinate with all finishing stations for better productivity.

· Implement quality systems and OSHA safety standards and SAP systems.

· Monitor performance related to safety, quality, traceability, productivity, downtime, & waste

· Monitor operation, maintenance, development and modification projects.

· Preventive maintenance planning and execution.

· Implement and maintain quality management systems in the area, ensure the quality of the pipes meet all specifications.

· Train operators for smooth functioning

· Ensure safety of employees by creating safety awareness.

· Manpower management, work assignment, & discipline monitoring.

· Other duties as assigned

· Technical - Strong mechanical engineering background with knowledge of spiral pipe forming, welding and testing requirements .setting and operating variables. Knowledge operating and preventive maintenance of custom built fully automatic hydro tester m/c, beveling m/c, ultrasonic and radiographic testing m/c, familiar with customer spec. code requirements and inspection techniques .knowledge of operating and synchronization with high level of automation.

Salary based on experience.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2 to 5 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
