What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Director position at Wenatchee World?
Washington Media LLC, North Central Washington’s leading multi-media company, is seeking an experienced media management professional to lead our operational functions. You’ll support revenue fulfillment and expense management, working across departments within the Wenatchee operation as well as with centralized services, outside vendors, property management and other connected entities.
Washington Media’s channels include The Wenatchee World, the region’s leader in news and information online and in print, a lifestyle magazine, a business publication, podcast, email newsletters, special publications, events and more. Our press and production facility prints, processes and delivers many regular publications across the Pacific Northwest.
In this position, you will be an integral part of the company’s leadership team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but not limited to, the following:
- Support media and printing operations and their facilities.
- Ensure systems and processes are efficient and effective.
- Coordinate local staff onboarding and offboarding processes, training and coaching programs.
- Work closely with publisher and leadership on new and strategically important opportunities.
- Lead and manage local financial processes with accounting team and department heads.
- Create plans and lead departments through our events: Community Impact Awards, Best of Preps, World’s Best, 30 under 35, Wenatchee Wine and Food Festival.
- Supervise and lead audience and marketing/events teams.
- Provide advertising and marketing support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience as a successful team leader with the ability to look at challenges and solve creatively with resources.
- Strong computer skills, internet savvy, organizational skills, clear verbal and written communication, attention to detail and follow-through are a must.
- 3 years previous leadership experience required.
