Job Description Summary:
WESTECH’s Accountant will manage general accounting functions, financial analysis, and budget development for our US Army’s Enhance Army Global Logistics Enterprise (EAGLE) services contract at Schofield Barracks, HI. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations. Additionally, the Accountant will coordinate with governmental agencies, resolve compliance issues, and streamline financial processes to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general accounting functions, financial analysis, and budget development for the program.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
- Develop, implement, and administer financial records in compliance with accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations.
- Manage and administer cost accounting and financial management systems.
- Formulate and administer financial projections and cash flow forecasts to ensure accurate reporting of program finances.
- Manage month-end close procedures, contract invoicing, and financial analysis projects.
- Coordinate, negotiate, and resolve financial compliance issues with governmental agencies to ensure accurate interpretation of contract requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Utilize various computer programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for financial reporting and analysis.
General Duties:
- Provide guidance and support to the Project Manager and accounting team members.
- Assist in resolving complex accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting and/or finance.
- Experience in a supervisory role in a government or government-related finance position preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and relational database programs for data processing.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
