Headquartered in Carrollton, Texas we manufacture quality products used in America’s critical infrastructure industries including but not limited to class 8 trucks, electric vehicles, truck trailers, utility scale solar power, electrical transmission, and numerous commercial construction products.
About the Role : This position reports to the Environmental Manager and is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental regulations, Western Extrusions environmental policies, ISO 14001 requirements, and environmental permits.
Your Responsibilities :
- Ensure environmental compliance with federal, state, city, and company regulations and policies by conducting audits and following up with appropriate departmental supervisors / managers.
- Assist in the completion of federal, state, and local environmental reports.
- Support ISO 14001 management and sustainability reporting.
- Complete environmental sampling and monitoring.
- Obtain and maintain required environmental permits.
- Collect, analyze, and maintain data essential for effective environmental programs.
- Prepare various reports, including charts and graphs, to determine trends and needs.
- Monitor for latest SDS updates from the manufacturers / distributors of chemicals and ensure all new chemical SDS are obtained and available in the SDS database.
- Manage SDS data in the ERA software.
- Ensure environmental records are prepared and available at all times.
- Ensure all hazardous waste is managed properly.
- Conduct emergency response activities and assist in the cleanup of hazardous spills.
- Performs basic calculations and computer data entry.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, inspectors, and other personnel.
- Adhere to all safety and quality guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment including but not limited to adhering to all PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements, immediate incident reporting, and adherence to both Safety Cardinal Rules and Quality Cardinal Rules, among others.
- Promote, support, and enforce Western’s Safety, Quality, Governance, regulatory and ISO 9001 standards as they apply.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team.
