What You'll Do
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Opens containers.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
- Handles the movement of chemicals with care and follow all safety procedures accordingly
- Counts, weights, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator.

- Maintains general housekeeping, maintenance on receiving docks and clearing of brush as needed.
- Stack or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
- Assembles crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles.
- Shovels lose materials such as sand, gravel, metals, plastics, or chemicals, into machine hoppers or into vehicles and containers such as wheelbarrows, scrap truck, or barrels.
- Operates industrial truck, pallet jacks or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Maintain all surrounding areas for cleanliness, orderliness and organization by established 5S practices.
- Picks up soiled rags weekly for outside cleaning
- Cross trained to operate chip spinners including clearing spinners of chips as needed
Reports to: Material Handling Lead / Production Manager
What You'll Need
Knowledge of:
- Basic computer
- Basic Math
Skills/Ability to:
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences and memos
- Write simple correspondence & fill in required quality forms
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Safely and properly operate various material handling equipment
- Develop multiple skills for multiple cells as needed
