Laser Operator

Westran Thermal designs, engineers, fabricates, and services industrial ovens used in manufacturing applications in a wide variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, building products, packaging, electronics, and finishing.

Responsibilities:

• Load full size sheets of 20GA up to ½” steel onto the laser.
• Ensure that the correct gauge and material type is being cut.
• Check quantities of parts on programs against required amount.
• Observe the operation of the laser to ensure successful cuts.
• Transfer programs from the network to the laser.
• Operate laser continuously without needing supervision.
• Listen to directions from supervisors.
• Program Recuts.
• Maintain a proper amount of sheet metal inventory.
• Mark all parts with part number.
• Determine if all parts are present.
• Neatly organize parts before sending them to the next station.
• Mark off quantities of parts that are cut.
• Interpret measurements.
• Hammer, grind, and chip work pieces.
• Resolve production issues.
• Complete preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Ensure working environment is clean and safe.
• Report errors in product line.
• Complete quality control forms.
• Be self-driven to maximize production.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
