POSITION TITLE: Director of Nursing
Busy medical practice in Tuscaloosa is seeking a Director of Nursing. Responsible for the management of the clinical staff, which includes but not limited to RNs, LPNs, MAs, Lab Technicians and other clinical team members. Must have proficiency in ambulatory/clinical nursing and the ability to perform a variety of professional nursing assessments, planning and evaluation, counseling, and guidance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSN from an accredited school of nursing; Master’s degree preferred. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising medical staff.
- Must have excellent verbal, written and customer services skills. Capable of remaining calm, polite and professional in pressure situations.
- Highly skilled proficiency in basic computer functions.
- Must have the ability to lead and instruct others.
- Strong customer service, problem solving, and multitasking skills are a must.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Manage the nursing care for all patients of the clinic.
- Complete daily huddles and ensure adequate coverage.
- Supervise the nursing staff; conduct performance evaluations, address performance issues, and manage staffing schedule.
- Responsible for the process of hiring, orienting, and training new staff.
- Recognize changes in workflow patterns in the clinic and intervene as appropriate.
- Make frequent clinical rounds to ensure patient flow, inform providers of any changes in staffing mix, patient conditions, or medical needs.
- Responsible for addressing patient concerns and complaints.
- Evaluate the nursing staff as they complete their assigned tasks and point out any changes or improvements that need to be made.
