Position Summary
Whitworth University Counselors provide culturally informed care to a diverse undergraduate student body, aligning with the university's Christian mission and values. The Counselor delivers comprehensive mental health services, including individual, couples, and group counseling, intake assessment, crisis intervention, referrals, treatment planning, case management, and documentation. They also contribute to campus well-being through educational programs, consultation with the campus community, and support for student groups.

Hourly Salary Range
Associate Counselor : $27.09 - $28.36 Counselor : $32.69 - $33.41
Core Responsibilities
Counseling Services | 75%
- Provide individual, couples, and group counseling services to a diverse clientele within a brief and focused counseling model. If approved, provide longer-term counseling with selected clientele.
- Provide clinical assessment, crisis intervention, case management, and treatment planning for students in acute distress.
- Provide coordinated support and develop collaborative relationships between Health Services, Educational Support Services, Residence Life, Campus Safety, Athletics, and other on and off-campus resources.
- Make referrals to external, community referral sources including agencies, organizations, and individuals who may be able to help meet students' needs.
- Develop, coordinate, and administer workshops, trainings, and programming to respond to the needs of campus constituents. This may involve evening or weekend work.

Full-time (.75 FTE) | 9 months | 40 hours per week
The work schedule spans from the last week of August to the third week of May. The last working day in 2025 will be May 23, 2025. This is an ongoing appointment with benefits continuing during non-working months. Occasional availability to work outside standard office hours.
