General Description:
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an exemplary volunteer program to provide a supplementary workforce using volunteers. .
Essential Duties:
- Develop strong relationships within the community to foster a positive image such that will make WCH the volunteer organization of choice.
- Develop and implement processes to efficiently recruit and retain volunteers.
- Manage volunteer screening (Interview, required background checks, pre-employment testing.)
- Perform orientation and training for all volunteer staff.
- Work with management team to develop new volunteer positions.
- Develop a “Skill based” professional group of volunteers to meet the unique needs of a growing organization.
- Efficiently manage the documentation process, calendaring and data collection.
- Manage the coordination of appropriate and meaningful volunteer experiences; assure the positions are productive for WCH.
- Plan volunteer recognition events and activities within budget.
- Scheduling volunteers in all departments of WCH.

- Willingness and ability to adjust to changing conditions or priorities.

Qualifications:
- Volunteer Management or appropriate related experience.
- Knowledge of resources in the community.
- Ability to coordinate events.
- Demonstrate ability to present effective messages to individuals, groups and the public.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse variety of individuals.
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees.
Preferred Qualifications
Work activities may include: standing, walking, climbing, sitting, kneeling, and stooping.
Ability to work on the phone and computer for at least 30% of the day.
Physical Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit for long periods
- Must be able to operate standard office equipment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions
