12 months, 35 hours, 260 days

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma.
Minimum of five (5) years of bookkeeping experience. Applicable post-secondary training in accounting may be accepted in lieu of experience.
Experience with general ledger accounting software. Experience with other software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook e-mail and Kronos timekeeping system is preferred.
Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures and equipment.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assume daily responsibility for writing checks and making deposits.
Enter receipts and disbursements into the automated general ledger system.
Reconcile monthly bank statements and submit to the school principal and finance office for approval.
Prepare monthly financial report on all transactions and reconcile/review accounts with appropriate staff.
Order supplies for the school and serve as receiver for the school.
Maintain school’s payroll information through automated time keeping system.
Initiate purchase requisitions and invoice authorizations for processing of payment for invoices.
Assist staff with submission of mileage and expense reimbursements.
Monitor account balances for all General Fund and Special Revenue Funds assigned by the Board and review with appropriate staff.
Reconcile Procard statements per the published schedule.
Prepare and submit sales tax report and related payment per the established schedule.
Prepare reports for audit at end of school year, making sure fund balance and cash balance are in accordance with Board of Education policy.
Responsible for fixed asset accounting.
Perform related work as assigned by Finance in consultation with the Principal.
