Custodian - Westminster Center School

Westminster Center School, K-6, is seeking a full time custodian. Job Requirements: Lifting (minimum of 40 pounds), bending, stooping, walking, reaching overhead, working off ladders and scaffolding at various heights, outdoor work in a variety of conditions and temperatures with knowledge of grounds keeping and minor maintenance knowledge, observing and reporting needs for maintenance and supplies, getting along with others i.e. teachers, students and the general public, keeping the building and premises, including the sidewalks, driveways and play areas neat and clean, assisting with general cleaning with fellow employees, when necessary, classrooms, halls, office space, and school entrances, washing windows, both sides, at least once a year and more frequently as necessary, making minor repairs. Reporting major repairs to the Maintenance Director, attends to work at regular scheduled hours.

Assumes the responsibilities for closing and securing the building at the end of each school day and making sure all doors and windows are locked and lights are out except those left on for safety reasons.The ability to move furniture or equipment within or outside the building as required for various activities and as directed by the Maintenance Director or Principal and the ability to move furniture, textbooks, and supplies for cleaning.Individuals should apply via School Spring and include a letter of interest, a resume, any transcript(s) of degree(s), and three current letters of reference.Contact: Liz Harty
