Winpak Films is seeking a Controller to join their Finance Department based out of Senoia, GA. In this role you will be reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will provide leadership including coordination of company financial closing and related financial affairs. Ensure company accounting procedures conform to U.S. generally accepted accounting principles. The Controller will have accountable for the company’s general ledger and internal controls. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. You will play a key role in shaping financial strategies and guiding a team to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency, supporting Winpak Films mission to provide innovative packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).
- Lead preparation and coordination of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including authorization of disbursements and cash flow management.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate accounting department staff to maintain a high-performing team.
- Ensure accurate intercompany transaction reporting and account reconciliations.
- Support the implementation of a new ERP system and ensure seamless integration with existing processes.
- Promote effective communication and teamwork within the department and across the company.
- Handle special projects and perform other duties to support the accounting team and broaden organizational goals.
- Ensure adherence to company GMP, sanitation, and food safety plans and policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in senior-level finance or accounting roles, with a focus on manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost control principles.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- 3 years of experience in informal or formal leadership abilities with experience managing and coaching teams.
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with a high level of particularly in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA certification or MBA/master’s in finance or accounting.
- Experience with manufacturing accounting and cost accounting practices.
- Advanced skills in financial systems, especially ERP and Fixed Asset Software.
- Leadership experience in managing finance teams within a manufacturing environment.
Additional Information:
- This position is for a Monday – Friday.
- This position is 100% onsite.
- Limited travel may be required, including occasional overnight domestic and international travel.
