Winstead PC's Dallas office is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys.
Prepare and edit legal documents and correspondence, saving to the document management system; proofread to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Review, organize, and process client billing in a timely manner.
Research and respond to requests for information from attorneys and clients.
Enter attorney time; review and revise timesheets accurately.
Manage and monitor calendaring of deadlines and key dates.
Calendaring and interaction with clients and other contacts regarding meetings and scheduling.
Coordinate business travel arrangements.
Organize electronic and physical files; maintain systems to promote organization and efficiency.
Prepare conflict of interest checks and open new client files.
Prepare engagement letters and conflict waivers.
Coordinate with Audit Committee to prepare audit responses for clients.
Process expense reports/reimbursement requests.
Assist assigned attorneys with CLE compliance and business development activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
3 years of experience as a legal assistant in a law firm is required.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
Good working knowledge of document management systems; NetDocuments experience is preferred.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Ability to handle and adjust to competing deadlines and priorities.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to work overtime when required.
