Job Summary: The Banquet Captain is responsible for ensuring an exceptional member and guest experience in the club for all events. This is a highly visible, hands-on position that involves being the key liaison to the event planner/host throughout the event as well as continuous training and supervision of service staff. The Banquet Captain works closely with the Director of Catering, Event Coordinator, Assistant General Manager, and Culinary Team.
Requirements
Expected Hours of Work: Flexible scheduling - Daytime, evening, and weekend hours. This is an on-call position.
Required Education and Experience
- Experience in the Food & Beverage and/or Hospitality Industries.
- Experience in supervising banquet functions.
- Must have an exceptional eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and direct a team of staff in a pro-active and positive manner.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar environment preferred.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
- TIPS certification preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct banquet/event staff.
- Conduct pre-shift meetings for each event with service staff.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $25-28/hour depending on experience.
- Uniforms provided.
- Complimentary employee meals.
- Use of Woodhill’s exceptional facilities (golf course, pool, tennis courts, and winter sports complex) on some Mondays.
