Accounting Asset Specialist

Description

Summary/ Objective:

Compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Essential Functions (but are not limited to):

• Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE.
• Record and maintain fixed asset schedule and policy
• Record and maintain capital expenditure budget
• Report to management status of capital budget and status of assets and depreciation
• Verify & post details of business transactions, such as funds paid & disbursed, & totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets & databases.                          
• Reconcile report discrepancies and problems, i.e., variances between reports and the general ledger.                        
• Code data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
• Assist in budgeting and cost management.                                                                                      
• Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.                                                      
• Compile cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.    
• Lead and assist with special projects in the accounting departments.        
• Ensure timely month end closing activities
• Lead departments managers and stakeholders to identify and improve efficiencies and reduce cost
• Work with auditors to provide timely reporting
• Understand and implement current accounting standards
• Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases as related to taxes.
• Regular attendance is required

Must be flexible to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above to accomplish YKTA Goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience in related field.
• Experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office especially Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• ERP experience, preferably PLEX

Environment:

• Work is conducted in an industrial office/ plant setting.
• Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ E-coat environments.

Physical Demands:

• Able to lift up to 33lbs.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Able to traverse the plant facility.
