Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management. Journeyman level certification/license in one or more skilled trade. At least six (6) years of civil engineer experience in operation and maintenance (O&M) services supporting a military base or civilian installation. Four (4) years’ experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities and utility systems.

Job Description:

Plans, coordinates, and directs all activities relating to repair, installation, and operation of facilities and utilities. The primary responsibilities of the position include supervising, directing, and coordinating all civil engineering activities related to operation and maintenance of station facilities including minor construction, improvement, preventative maintenance, general maintenance, and repair.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of common safety practices and protective equipment used on a construction site.
• General knowledge of all maintenance and construction trades
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools commonly used in the construction trade.
• Skill in the use of common office machinery, including copiers, fax machines, and computers.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle potentially highly stressful situations.
• Ability to create and maintain a positive team atmosphere with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with a variety of people and personalities.
• Ability to work cooperatively and safely with others on common projects.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings, and transpose data to material requirements and facility construction.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plans, schedules, and supervises the work in accordance with contract requirements.
• Directs the monitoring of programs to ensure the full compliance with state, local and federal regulations.
• Supervise the interpretations and applications of specifications.
• Implements methods and procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Completes all records and reports pertaining to maintenance project completions.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications, policies, and regulations, as well as resolving any technical problems encountered.
• Operates a work order/service call suspense system to respond to service calls and work requests.
• Coordinates sections’ activities relating to manpower and material requirements with management.
• Directs all Maintenance Technicians, and schedules maintenance activities for all facilities, utility systems, roads, and grounds.
• Establishes work standards and priorities of work.
• Improves work methods to effect better utilization of equipment and personnel.
• Reviews work in progress, instituting changes and schedules to keep within established time limits.
• Prepares budgets and makes appropriate changes, providing justification for the modifications.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
