What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Youth Health Service, Inc?
- This position provides YHS Support Service Team Members and Clinical Team Members with support to ensure accuracy and the completion of the administrative billing process, support surrounding the patient collection process, patient eligibility and behavioral health accounts receivables. This position works directly with clients, staff, and insurance companies directly to inquire and process eligibility issues and claim statuses until all options have been exhausted.
Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma, 3 years of experience or Associate’s degree in related field.
- Communication and organizational skills, and competent decision making abilities.
- Must work closely with YHS professional staff and private vendors.
- Competent office skills; including excellent computer skills and good communication skills.
Duties
- Obtaining Medical Authorizations
- Data Entry
- Authorization Monitoring
- Communication with staff regarding authorizations for service
- Submission of clinical documentation to insurance companies
- Post and completes accounts payable on the correct client and claim with accuracy.
- Readies secondary submissions when completing accounts payable.
- Reception as scheduled.
- Complete eligibility on scheduled clients.
- Meets with and follows up with responsible parties to complete payment plans and review collection policies.
- Communicates with appropriate staff concerning YHS clients’ insurance issues.
- Will monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payment.
- Other duties as assigned.

Salary/Hourly rate is predetermined based on experience and schedule.

This is a full time, 40 hours per week hourly position. Full time staff is eligible for fringe benefits.
