Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer

Job Summary

ZA Construction is looking for Heavy Equipment Operator. Salary is commensurate with experience. Must be able to work Monday - Friday (full-time and some overtime) and be available to work on weekends/holidays when necessary. Must be able to travel out of state (transportation provided).

Duties/Responsibilities

• Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, track dumps, off road dumps, motor graders, material handling trucks, grapples and excavators safely.
• Must be able work in harsh weather conditions as well as rough terrain.
• Must be physically able to climb on and under railroad cars or other equipment.
• Knows and adheres to all safety guidelines of heavy machinery operation.
• Routine pre-trip inspection of equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs
• Responsible for the safe operation and upkeep of all equipment on site.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
• Requires Clean MVR, Requires pre-employment Background check and Drug Screen.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Must be highly dependable and available for emergency calls.
• CDL Class A License a plus!
• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Railroad Experience (preferred)

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 80 per week
