Description
The Foreman is responsible for the overall crew operations of a single jobsite. This individual is required to support, assist, and direct all crew personnel on site to ensure company-wide success, profitability, customer satisfaction, quality, safety, and reputation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Determines and carries out both daily planning/execution for each job while minimizing risk/exposure.
- Manages crew, supervises individual activity, assists, and directs crew when needed. Assigns respective duties and delegates tasks based on the skill of the crew.
- Communicates all information, changes, problems, needs for manpower, equipment, and material to the Superintendent.
- Ensures quality and accuracy of work performed.
- Adheres to designs and specifications as determined; reviews and follows plans, specifications, and materials to be used.
- Schedules inspections as needed.
- Completes daily paperwork including production reports, daily logs, tool-box talks, and field extras as they occur.
- Coordinate material orders and deliveries to site.
- Understand project information and identify obstacles and opportunities for each phase of work.
- Ensure the crew has correct equipment, materials, and tools for the job.
- Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers.
Essential Areas Of Responsibility
Adhere to all Company safety policies, OSHA policies and other applicable safety standards
Responsible for efficient utilization of labor, equipment, materials and other resources
Represent Company in a professional and positive manner at all times during working hours and on job-sites
Proactively communicate with team on all matters that impact project quality, safety, resource utilization and project stages / timelines
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- 2 years field experience as a Foreman with general contractor who performs concrete, masonry, carpentry for both residential and commercial projects
- Able to manage performance with a high degree of competency in concrete team supervision and direction
- Strong knowledge of current construction means, methods and procedures and be able to direct others to perform to these standards
- Must be able to read and interpret plans, specifications and shop drawings
- Ability to travel to job sites as required
- Valid Driver's License (CDL License a Plus)
- Personal accountability and responsibility with excellent follow-through
- Positive attitude, collaborative and adept at every changing priority
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop and reach on a prolonged and continual basis
- Must have good stamina, vision, eye hand coordination and ability to estimate size and dimensions
- Must wear required PPE at all times and follow all safety requirements
- Must be able to climb stairs, work from heights on ladders or scaffolding and move throughout the jobsite
- Must be able to efficiently and effectively operate manual and electrically powered tools, sprayers and construction related equipment utilizing full range of physical motion
Mental Demands
Ability to simultaneously address multiple complex priorities and problems
Work under high pressure and safety sensitive situations in a positive and collaborative manner
Ability to exercise independent judgement and make decisions related to the finishing process and timing
Analyze, interpret and utilize data and technical information
Working Conditions
Adheres to the time and attendance requirements as established by the Project Superintendent
Outdoor conditions vary depending on weather and season, this position works year round
Various job sites with varying conditions from inside to outdoors in areas that are dusty, dirty or noisy, or which could have work hazards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
