The manufacturing facility, which is approved in US, Europe, Canada, Australia, etc., is designed to fulfil global regulatory requirements and deliver Contura’s entire range of hydrogel products. Contura has obtained FDA approval for its product for treating stress urinary incontinence in women, Bulkamid, and a manufacturing license (§39) for production of its hydrogel technology as a medicinal product. The company’s development, manufacturing and testing processes comply with the European Medical Devices directive 93/42/EEC and the quality system meets the standards required to obtain ISO 13485:2016. Contura is currently 110 employees but is growing by the month. The company offers: A challenging position in a growing company with dedicated people and a strong pioneer spirit. We reach the objectives through an interdisciplinary collaboration between motivated and competent colleagues in an informal working environment. There is a natural focus on the ongoing development of professional and personal skills that will help to ensure the company’s continued success in an ever more demanding area of the medical device industry. The Position As our new Process Engineer, you will play a key role in driving technical expertise and ownership within the utilities area. You will work with systems such as Pre-Treated Water (PTW), Water for Injection (WFI), HVAC, Compressed Air, and Building Management Systems (BMS), ensuring they meet the high standards required in a GMP-regulated environment. You will gradually grow into the role of Process Responsible, becoming the subject matter expert (SME) for one or more utility systems. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact while deepening your knowledge in a highly regulated, quality-focused setting. Your main responsibilities will include: Developing expertise in assigned processes, staying up to date with relevant guidelines, standards, and internal procedures Managing and resolving non-conformities, as well as initiating and following up on CAPAs and change requests Acting as a key point of contact during internal and external audits, presenting your processes and ensuring documentation and compliance Serving as SME in future expansion projects within your utility area, including support for qualification and validation activities Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure systems run efficiently and meet GMP requirements Identifying and implementing continuous improvements to enhance system quality, reliability, and performance We are looking for someone who: Experience with utility systems such as PTW/WFI, HVAC, compressed air, and BMS is preferred. Alternatively, experience as equipment responsible for process equipment, filling lines, or similar systems is also valuable—especially if you're eager to take the next step into a utility-focused role. We'll support your development with comprehensive training and foster your growth through your curiosity and commitment. You thrive as a generalist with a solid understanding of how different systems work, enabling you to troubleshoot and contribute across a broad range of utility systems. At the same time, you take on a specialist role for one or two key systems—setting direction and driving improvements within those areas. Comes from a background in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry Preferred Skills: Good understanding of GMP requirements Broad technical knowledge across multiple disciplines, with the ability to navigate and interpret system documentation such as P&IDs, functional specifications, and material data. This enables you to quickly understand how systems operate and make well-informed, fact-based decisions. Hands-on experience with process equipment and/or clean utility systems. Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proven ability to lead or contribute effectively to cross-functional projects. Personal Profile You are a proactive, service-minded team player who takes pride in delivering high-quality results on time. With a structured and hands-on approach, you thrive in dynamic environments and are motivated by responsibility. You enjoy driving technical topics forward—even when stepping into new areas where you’re still learning. You bring a curious, analytical mindset and a natural talent for problem-solving. Thinking outside the box doesn’t intimidate you, and you manage multiple tasks with ease. You’re organized, self-driven, and take full ownership of your responsibilities. You enjoy collaborating with diverse stakeholders and value strong cross-functional teamwork across departments. Ideally, you have 3–5 years of experience in a relevant field, preferably within the pharmaceutical or medical device industry. While direct experience with utility systems is a plus, it’s not a requirement. If you've worked with other types of process equipment and bring the energy, motivation, and desire to grow into a utility-focused role, you could be the perfect fit.
