Job Posting for Business Intelligence Specialist at COWI

Business Intelligence Specialist, Lyngby

Full-time permanent

Hybrid

Do you want to be part of developing the BI tools that will provide insights, drive actions, and ultimately support the strategic direction of COWI? Can you convert data into compelling storytelling through visualisations - and do you have strong collaboration skills? Then this opportunity might be for you.

Create the solutions that will enable a better tomorrow

As a Business Intelligence Specialist, you will be part of the Business Intelligence and Insights team, and you will play an instrumental role in bringing our company data to strategic use. Our team develops BI-tools targeted at colleagues all across COWI - providing data-based insights and supporting actions to enable our long-term strategic ambitions as outlined in our strategy. We have an ambition to take the use of data to the next level.

You will report to the Head of Business Intelligence and Insights, Sofie Gade Sundin, and you will work in close cooperation with colleagues in the team as well as many stakeholders across COWI.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse business requirements for BI projects
  • Design, develop and maintain business intelligence (BI) solutions using Power BI
  • Stay updated on BI technologies to recommend improvements and best practices - and take active part in knowledge sharing across the team
  • Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability in reports
  • Optimize Power BI performance and enhance user experience

Your Skills. Our Team. Together We Design the Future

The first step to success and growth in this role is that you understand that collaboration, co-creation and good communication pave the way for good and well-anchored solutions. Developing ties with others is something you do naturally by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

In addition to the above, you will have:

  • Proficiency in Power BI: Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience in developing Power BI reports, including data preparation, data modeling, DAX expressions, Power Query, data visualization, and report optimization
  • Data Visualization and Dashboard Design: Experience in designing and developing engaging dashboards and reports
  • Data Modeling and Database: Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and database technologies (SQL)
  • Data Integration: Ability to work with different data sources and integrate them into Power BI
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and understand their reporting needs
  • Data Management: Experience in extracting and managing data from different sources like SQL Server, Dataverse, Azure, SAP HANA, and SharePoint
  • Data-Driven Storytelling: Holistic approach to developing solutions with demonstrated creativity in crafting visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards and reports.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Danish and English, both spoken and written.

It will be a bonus if you can tick off one or more of the following:

  • Experience with Tabular Editor (Cube) and SQL
  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem, incl. Fabric, Copilot, PowerApps, and Power Automate
