Teach undergraduate students from North American universities who are spending a semester studying in Copenhagen, Denmark. The course ‘Early Childhood: Nordic Education and Parenting’ explores how a child’s early years shape later development and how a Nordic approach to childhood – in terms of parenting, policies, pedagogies, and cultural structures – compares and contrasts to approaches in other parts of the world.

Teaching requirements
This is a short-term full-time teaching position with flexible hours. Salary is based on an AC Agreement. Teaching expectations include: 3 hours of class time per day on weekdays, two 4-hour field studies, plus a week-long study tour as described above.
Start Date: The course runs from June 17 – July 4, 2025. Training and onboarding are planned on an individual basis.

Most students enrolled in the Early Childhood: Nordic Education and Parenting course study education or psychology at their North American university, though disciplines might expand beyond this. Students are typically in their third year of university. Courses are all taught in English.
Pedagogical support, training, and mentorship is available at DIS through the Learning Lab and experienced faculty; faculty are encouraged to collaborate with academic support staff in various professional development opportunities.
