Senor Business Continuity and Security Advisor

POSTED ON 4/27/2025 AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/27/2025
European Energy A/S Søborg, Full Time

Are you driven by working with business continuity, crisis management, and physical security for critical infrastructure projects in the renewable energy sector? This is your chance to join a rapidly developing international company and have great influence on setting the direction for business resilience in European Energy.

European Energy is a green company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar (PV) and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our six core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your New Role
As our new Senor Business Continuity and Security Advisor, you are instrumental in increasing European Energy (EE)’s ability to prepare for, anticipate, respond to, and recover from disruptions impacting the company’s key deliverables and revenue streams. You are involved in supporting the development and implementation of the Business Resilience and Enterprise Risk programs.

At EE, working with business resilience will entail projects involving business continuity, crisis management, physical security, and some elements of information security. You will collaborate with teams across the business and at all levels of seniority within Information Security, Operations and Maintenance, Asset Management, QHSE, IT and other cross-functional teams, to ensure compliance with resilience associated policies, regulatory requirements, and relevant best practices.

More specifically, your areas of responsibility include:

  • You take lead on or assist in the development and implementation of policies, frameworks, and toolkits that manage EE’s resilience
  • You assist plan owners with development and maintenance of their resilience plans
  • You take lead on or assist with the planning and facilitation of risk and resilience workshops, crisis management exercises, and lessons learned.
  • You assist in preparation for and hosting of audits by authorities.
  • You create KPIs to track Business Resilience and program performance and reporting for top management
  • You manage or assist in the development and implementation of training and awareness programs
  • You consume and communicate threat intelligence, updates to regulatory requirements, and new best practices regularly.

You will thrive in this position if

  • You have a bucket load of curiosity.
  • You exceed at people skills.
  • You get a kick out of working with people, a lot of them, and getting them to meet in a common understanding, conclusion and idea of what is to be done.
  • You are not afraid of asking questions – both the tough and the “silly” ones (we believe that there is no such thing).
  • You accept that some things take longer to achieve, and can keep up the spirit and pace, even when it seems like the work isn’t progressing.
  • You have a passion for solving complex problems
  • You can act calmly and intelligently in times of crisis.
  • You take responsibility and like to run with the task independently.

It would be great if

  • You have an education related to security studies or risk management.
  • You have an understanding of business continuity, physical security, and crisis management in the renewable energy or critical infrastructure context.
  • You have experience developing frameworks and toolkits for risk or resilience-related programs.
  • You have great communication skills both written and oral in Danish and English.
  • You are a storyteller that can convince others of why contingency and preparing for worst case scenarios is important even though is it not always the highest priority for the other party.
  • You can speak effectively before a broad range of groups of stakeholders, business partners, and employees in all areas of the organization.

With us, you get

  • The opportunity to work with various stakeholders across all departments and countries, and at all levels across European Energy.
  • The opportunity to develop frameworks, toolkits, and capabilities from scratch and the opportunity to implement them at first-mover development projects in the green transition.
  • To be part of a rapidly growing company at the core of the green transition.
  • The possibility to work in an entrepreneurial environment where gaining hands-on experience is encouraged, while at the same time, new ideas and proactivity are valued.
  • We make an effort to welcome you as our new colleague. We prepare individual onboarding plans for everyone, and you will be assigned a buddy prior to your first day.

Your new team
You will be a part of quite a diverse department. Group Risk Management & Insurance covers everything from insurance to claims and contingency/emergency response strategies, Enterprise Risk Management, and Risk Transfer. Thinking ahead and ensuring the most sustainable, safe, and continuous way of business possible is what connects all of our different fields.

As a cross functional department, we work with almost all departments in the company – because our expertise and areas of work affect everything and everyone. Our goal is to create a solid synergy across the company from timely risk analyses and insurance policy placing to a safe and well-choreographed operations phase and insisting on constantly improving through evaluations and lessons learned.

We are five colleagues in the team, four of us based in Copenhagen and one in the UK. We support each other across specialist areas, and we like to have a good laugh.
