Internship – Solar (PV)

We have already collaborated with many students, who have helped us with new and exciting solutions, and we are currently looking for new students to do the same. In fact, we have employed several of our interns after their graduation, and we hope that we can keep doing so.

We are looking for innovative ideas and the latest knowledge
You will be part of the department Photovoltaic Asset Management where you will participate in the daily operation and development of solar parks. In PVAM, you will work within some of our main areas, where your tasks will be a combination of office and field work.

Solar (PV)
Ordinary maintenance, troubleshooting & extraordinary maintenance

• Our main purpose is to ensure a high uptime for our PV-plants. Most of the incidents causing downtime are preventable with preventative maintenance, which we perform. Some incidents are caused by weather incidents or similar, where our job is to troubleshoot; access the damage, find the cause of failure and repair what is needed to get the assets back up and running. This includes electrical measurements, replacing components and more.

Warranty claims

• Based on the cause of failure we are responsible for submitting warranty claims and coordination of warranty repairs; spare parts, work crew etc.

SCADA monitoring & data analyzis

• All our parks are monitored online, where we have SCADA systems to monitor asset performance and alarms to notify us of any irregularities.
• Using data, we can identify the root cause of most faults and implement procedures to prevent future accidents.

Commissioning & quality assesment

• When we build new parks, our crew is on site to follow the building progress and inspect the work done.

Design & optimization

• Our department is a knowledge center, where our input is valuable for the design/redesign of existing and future parks. We build power plants with ambitions of running those assets for up to 30 years. Every plant we build, we get more experience and realize what could be done better in the future. Furthermore, we look into optimizing the plants for lower losses and easier maintenance.

Technical & commercial support

• We provide support for our other departments; investors, battery, wind and foreign PV departments. Furthermore, we provide training in the above for our PV departments worldwide.

Project engineering and modelling of new facilities. In the future, we would like to have a PV test facility at our HQ, which we need to design.

Hybrid parks

• Co-operation of hybrid parks with integration of wind turbines, PV and batteries. Here, both grid connections and internal connections between the energy plants can be examined.
• Predictions and calculations of production with the primary aim of production planning and regulation

Maybe you are studying to become Marine Engineer, electrical Engineer or similar, but most importantly – you want to contribute with your knowledge and your excellent questions when we have our heads up to our eyes in numbers, developing components or are visiting one of our wind or solar parks.
