Can you picture your CFD simulations shaping the next generation of freeze dryers or spray dryers and are you ready to turn high-impact virtual testing into real-world change - in a talented specialist team where application of results are key.
At GEA, you will run cutting-edge CFD backed by serious computing power and a full software suite – all while working alongside seasoned specialists. You will move between R&D, customer projects, and physical testing in our onsite lab or in the field.
Responsibilities / Tasks
At our office in Søborg, you will join the Virtual Testing team that is a part of the testing and innovation Department. We are a team of CFD specialists working in close collaboration with innovation projects, physical testing and service. We work with the newest technology within our field and run impressive virtual tests thanks to our large high-performance computer. Our aim is to develop and integrate world-leading simulation capabilities for GEA’s technologies including spray dryers, freeze dryers, cyclones, bag filters, and heat exchangers to name a few.
As our new CFD specialist, you will work on several projects concurrently, as well as scope project tasks, when a significant part of a project contains virtual testing. You will work in the intersection of technical deep-diving and interacting and communicating with colleagues, to thoroughly understand their issues – and make agreements on what to investigate.
You will more specifically be:
Conducting virtual test campaigns to support R&D or customer projects, both new sales and service projects.
Developing virtual test methods for the GEA technologies.
Communicating technical information to the stakeholders via presentations, meetings, and concise technical reports.
Handling incoming virtual test requests and formulation of possible future projects, which includes scope definition and cost estimation.
Assisting with physical testing either at our onsite test center or at customer sites.
Scope R&D projects where a significant contribution from virtual testing is necessary to drive the product development.
Your Profile / Qualifications
You are a strong communicator with a commercial mindset, who can convey the business value of CFD to non-technical stakeholders.
We are open to the extent of your professional background, so whether you are just embarking on your career journey, or you have a handful or more years of experience with you, we hope to hear from you.
We imagine that you are:
Highly skilled in CFD simulations and fluid mechanics, beneficial with experience in Siemens Star-ccm
Experienced with the process industry, e.g., production of food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and emission control
Experienced with physical testing, including instrumentation and uncertainty analysis
Educated within the field of mechanical or chemical engineering on M.Sc. or Ph.D. level
Experienced with 3D CAD modelling in e.g., Autodesk inventor or Solid works
Experienced with programming for automation or advanced data analysis
