Are you passionate about shipping and international trade, excited to work with the latest maritime trends, and eager to be part of a fun, high-performing team helping clients make smarter decisions?
We are looking for a Student Assistant with an analytical mind and excellent written communication skills. If you have an interest in macroeconomics, shipping and are a team player join our team as we continue our quest to deliver market-leading insights to our clients around the world.
We offer:
At MB Shipbrokers, you will become part of a globally recognised shipbroking company with over a century of experience, a strong international presence, and commitment to delivering excellence for our clients. You will join our Research team of currently 12 experienced shipping professionals and talented academics specialised in finance, statistics, and trade.
Despite the busy nature of shipping, we recognise the importance of life outside of work and are committed to promoting balance and fostering a sense of community among our employees. With flexible working hours, weekly workout sessions, weekly access to padel courts, and occasional social events, we provide opportunities for employees to stay active, build camaraderie, and make all ends meet in their everyday lives.
Our Copenhagen office is conveniently located near Østerport station, the city, and the sea. We have changing facilities and our own canteen serving freshly made food every day.
Key responsibilities:
As Student Assistant, you join the team responsible for our research into the Dry Bulk market. Simply put, through the best analyses, reports, and presentations in the business, you help develop our relationships with our clients and their understanding of a complex market.
More specifically, you will be involved in:
· Updating and writing our weekly News updates
· Mapping major demand drivers within Dry Bulk shipping
· Preparing regular weekly, monthly and quarterly market reports
· Writing and further developing our market reports portfolio
· Sharing market insights with our organisation and clients
Who we are looking for:
You are the kind of person who thrives on structure, stays organised even under pressure, and brings positive energy into a collaborative team environment. Maybe you are currently studying economics or finance - perhaps a BSc in International Shipping and Trade, cand.polit., or cand.merc. - and you have found yourself especially drawn to the world of shipping and global trade.
You enjoy digging into the details, whether that means working in Excel, building sharp PowerPoint slides, or analysing data to spot patterns others might miss. Communicating your insights comes naturally – in English, both in writing and in conversation - and you are confident in your ability to turn complex information into something others can easily understand.
At MB Shipbrokers, you will support the team in transforming numbers and niche market knowledge into meaningful insights that help shape real decisions. We believe the best ideas come from diverse perspectives and that innovation happens when people feel empowered to think differently.
Want to join our research team?
At MB Shipbrokers, we know that diverse perspectives drive innovation and better solutions. We strive to create an environment where everyone, regardless of gender, background, or identity, feels valued and empowered to contribute.
Only applications received through our job portal will be taken into consideration – please apply via the link below. Please be aware that only candidates with a valid work permit for Denmark will be taken into consideration.
We will be conducting ongoing screenings and interviews, so please send your application at your earliest convenience. Please enclose a copy of your university diploma stipulating which courses you have taken.
