We are looking for a Senior Cross Border Power Trader ready to learn the specifics of the European power market and join our ambitious Power team with experienced colleagues. Do you have a good track record from a similar position? Do you want to develop and execute trading strategies, analyze data, and optimize the power flows on the borders of Central West Europe ? The job as Senior Cross Border Power Trader
As Senior Cross Border Power Trader in MFT Energy, you will take part in everyday trading and develop trading strategies and models for the spot auctions in Central West European markets. In the power team, we are 4 dedicated colleagues ready to welcome you and support you in your development of becoming a strong part of a very successful team.

We expect you to have experience in power trading on Day-ahead markets, doing daily optimization on the borders of Switzerland and have experience on analyzing the fundamentals of power markets in Europe. We will provide you with best in the industry colleagues, and guarantee a fun work environment, a steep learning curve, and a unique career within European power trading.

Your key responsibilities

• Daily trading and optimization of trading positions
• Developing and implementing trading strategies
• Building and maintaining models
• Risk evaluation
• Always questioning the status quo
• Applying insight to optimize and rethink trading tools
• Developing projects and implementing these with support from our specialist colleagues and support teams

Your qualifications and personal skills
Working as a trader involves using your analytical abilities to interpret complex market data, while maintaining a strong eye for detail and trends, and making quick, well-informed decisions under pressure. Therefore, becoming a successful trader depends not only on your professional capabilities but also on your personal competencies.

We imagine that you:

• Have experience from a similar position in other energy trading companies, preferably between 2-6 years.
• Have a master’s degree in finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a similar field.
• Are competitive by nature, and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Are a strong team player with the ability to work independently.
• Are a quick learner of complex datasets and methods.
• Have excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
