Salary: £55,000–£62,000 per annum

NIRAS Group (UK) Ltd is a leading consultancy in design and construction, renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable engineering solutions. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Burton-on-Trent.

The Role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality structural projects on time and within budget. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, collaborate with clients, and ensure the successful delivery of structural designs and calculations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver structural engineering projects, ensuring quality, budget, and timelines are met.
  • Prepare and review building regulations calculations and project specifications.
  • Manage project teams, resources, and budgets, using tools like Maconomy.
  • Develop project briefs and tendering for subcontractors.
  • Conduct structural surveys and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure compliance with QA standards and health and safety regulations.

About YouEssential Qualifications and Experience:

  • MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered or near-chartered status with ICE or IStructE.
  • 10 years of experience, including expertise in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and timber.
  • Proficient in Eurocodes, British Standards, and modern design software such as TEDDS.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with geotechnics and CDM regulations.
  • Familiarity with structural design modelling programmes.
  • A proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
