Engineer – Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

Within Simulation, we have a Global Centre of Excellence team, providing technical services since 1980 and supporting our strategic channel partnership with Ansys-recognised as the largest, most popular simulation software product range in the world. Through our simulation products and services we help our customers digitally transform how they design products – from electric vehicles and wind turbines to medical devices and pharmaceutical clean rooms.

We both supply Ansys and provide extensive consulting services to support customer objectives and strengthen their inhouse capabilities. We also deliver a wide range of simulation theory and software-based training courses to educate the next generation of engineers and reinforce best practice in industry.

What We Are Looking For

As part of our ambitious growth plans, we are looking to strengthen our computational fluid dynamics technical capabilities in the Nordics, covering Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.

Joining an existing dynamic team of over 25 simulation specialists within our Global Centre of Excellence, you will be supporting the implementation and use of Ansys CFD software at our customers, delivering training and undertaking consulting projects to solve real-world engineering challenges.

Your Role

• Support customers in implementing and using Ansys fluid dynamics software.
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to ensure customer success.
• Deliver training sessions and consulting projects to solve real-world engineering challenges.
• Potential to also work on a variety of physics and engineering modeling challenges beyond fluid dynamics, including FEA, optics, and CEM.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Masters/MEng level or higher degree in a related engineering or science discipline with significant fluid dynamics subject content.
• Fundamental technical understanding of engineering principles
• Minimum of 2 years experience using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation software such as Ansys Fluent, Siemens STAR-CCM or equivalent. This experience may be gained within university research and/or industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present solutions clearly and convincingly to large and small, technical and non-technical, audiences at a senior level.
• Self-motivation and the drive to achieve objectives.
• Good team-player.
Fluent in both a Nordic language and English.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Specific hands-on experience of Ansys computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation software.
• Knowledge and experience of simulation within other physics domains, such as structural or optics analysis.
• Industrial employment or secondment in an engineering environment, including working directly with customers.

As a company, we embrace hybrid working but also highly value office interaction and team collaboration. Therefore, you will be expected to attend one of our Nordics offices at least part-time, in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Lund, Hørsholm near Copenhagen, Asker near Oslo or Tampere.

In addition to regular travel across the Nordics to visit customers and meet business needs, you will also be required to travel occasionally to Manchester, UK, which is the headquarters of our Simulation Centre of Excellence.

Other Information:
Full-time probation period for 6 months to move over to permanent employment.
