Head of Information Technology

As we continue to scale, we are looking for a talented Head of IT to lead and manage our infrastructure and IT operations, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable systems to support our growing business.

As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire IT infrastructure, including network systems, hardware, software, and security protocols. You will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the company's IT operations, ensuring they are aligned with business needs and growth. This is a senior leadership position, requiring an experienced, hands-on technical leader with a strong background in system administration, infrastructure management, and security practices.

You will manage a team of skilled IT professionals, guiding them through technical challenges while ensuring operational excellence. Your leadership will be key to driving a culture of innovation, security, and technical rigor as the company scales.

• Leadership & Team Management: Lead and develop a team of senior IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
• Infrastructure Strategy: Define and implement the overall IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security as the company continues to grow.
• System Administration: Oversee the administration of IT systems, including network, servers, databases, cloud infrastructure, and virtualized environments, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure that all IT systems and data are secure by implementing best practices for cybersecurity, including risk management, threat detection, and compliance with relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2).
• Technology Roadmap: Work closely with the product and engineering teams to align IT infrastructure with product development needs and future technical requirements.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Provide technical leadership in diagnosing and resolving complex IT infrastructure issues.
• Budgeting & Resource Planning: Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation while maintaining high standards of service and uptime.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvements, optimizing performance, and driving innovation across the IT function.

• Experience: Proven experience in IT leadership roles, ideally within a fast-growing or scale-up environment.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), server administration, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
• Security Practices & Certifications: Strong knowledge of security frameworks, protocols, and standards. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security ) are highly desirable.
• System Administration: Hands-on experience in system administration, including Linux, Windows, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Team Leadership: Experience managing senior and technically strong teams, with the ability to mentor, inspire, and drive performance.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to set long-term IT strategies aligned with business goals and technology trends.
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Languages: Fluent in both German and English (required).
