Technology Planning Expert - Automotive Industry
On-site - Munich
I am looking for an Expert in Technology Planning with experience in the Automotive industry for an exciting role with a Global Leader in Advanced Technology and R&D.
Responsibilities
Technology Scouting: Establish and maintain a strong network with leading technology companies to identify potential collaboration partners. Organise executive visits to industry and academic institutions. Provide insights into the current state of the European technology landscape.
Technology Trend Analysis: Identify and monitor emerging technology trends to support strategic planning in automotive technology and product development.
Feasibility Assessment: Evaluate potential partners and technologies, assessing the feasibility and practical application of innovative solutions.
University Collaboration: Initiate and manage partnerships with top universities, aligning internal R&D teams with the most suitable academic counterparts. Oversee projects from initiation to delivery, and coordinate joint activities such as expert talks, management visits, steering committee meetings, and ceremonial events.
Engagement with Industry Associations: Build structured collaborations with external associations to gain early access to start-ups and stay ahead of industry trends.
Technology Road mapping: Support the development of strategic technology roadmaps to ensure a competitive and customer-focused product pipeline.
Qualifications
Master's degree in a technical discipline; a PhD is an advantage.
Significant experience in the technology sector, including research collaborations and business negotiations.
Extensive network across academia and industry, including universities, research institutions, VCs, start-ups, and corporates.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or Chinese is a plus.
Willingness to travel internationally (20% annually).
Experience in European R&D projects and international collaboration.
An existing personal network in relevant fields is a plus
