Field Application Engineer / Automotive / C / Embedded Systems

Position: Senior Field Application Engineer – Automotive Software.

Location: Munich, Germany.

In this customer-facing role, you'll be the technical voice of our embedded solutions, ensuring successful design-in, integration, and lifecycle support across high-profile client projects.

Core Responsibilities:

• Guide automotive partners through embedded system integration using advanced silicon platforms.

• Facilitate deep-dive technical sessions tailored to client workflows and development cycles.

• Represent platform roadmaps and feature capabilities in pre-sales and active design phases.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, validation, and product teams to align internal execution with customer goals.

• Serve as a technical escalation point from concept through end-of-life support.

• Own validation, debug, and refinement of embedded software modules across bootloaders, OS kernels, and driver stacks (Linux, Android, QNX, Hypervisors).

• Maintain robust documentation and communication around SW releases and client-specific adaptations.

• Deliver knowledge-sharing sessions to internal business units, promoting platform strengths and emerging use cases.

Preferred Profile:

• Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in electronics, computing, or applied physics.

• 5–10 years’ experience in systems-level software roles, ideally tied to chipsets or embedded platforms.

• Strong grasp of low-level software development in C/C within resource-constrained or safety-critical environments.

•Hands-on familiarity with OS bring-up, board support packages, and embedded toolchains.

•Working knowledge of modern automotive stacks, including Android Automotive, Yocto, or QNX-based deployments.

•Exposure to modern development workflows (CI/CD, Agile, DevOps) is an asset.

•Capable communicator and effective in multi-stakeholder environments, including multinational teams.

• Prior experience interfacing with OEMs or Tier 1s in the automotive sector is highly desirable.

• Fluent English: additional European languages welcome.
