Role Overview
The Transportation Manager ensures smooth, cost-effective transportation operations, overseeing daily activities such as scheduling, dispatching, and routing. This role involves managing teams, optimizing processes, and maintaining safety and compliance standards to ensure timely deliveries. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of logistics to drive operational excellence while maintaining cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee Daily Operations: Manage transportation activities, including vehicle scheduling, dispatching, and routing, to ensure efficient, timely deliveries while minimizing costs.
Leadership and Training: Lead, mentor, and train a team of drivers and dispatchers, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance: Ensure vehicle fleet maintenance and compliance with safety and regulatory standards, including inspections and documentation.
Coordination with Internal Teams: Collaborate with internal teams such as customer service, warehouse staff, and logistics coordinators to resolve delivery issues.
Performance Analysis and Optimization: Analyze key metrics (e.g., delivery times, fuel efficiency) to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years in transportation/logistics, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role managing transportation operations.
Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and logistics software knowledge. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with teams.
Certifications: CDL or relevant certifications preferred.
Language: Fluency in Chinese is a plus for effective communication in a global environment.
