The Role

The Senior Manager of External Communications and Digital Strategy for OLX will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies to enhance the company's public image and reputation. This hybrid role involves managing media relations, and public relations campaigns, and overseeing all social media and digital content strategy.

Reporting to: Director of Communications & ESG

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Communication and Digital Strategies: Create and implement effective external communication and digital strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Media Relations: Establish and nurture strong relationships with international media players, acting as OLX's primary media liaison person, managing agencies and aligning a network of PR officers in all OLX’s markets.
  • Public Relations Campaigns: Plan and execute public relations campaigns to promote key company initiatives, and position OLX as a pioneer and leader in using AI as a game changer to improve the user experience in online classifieds.
  • Social Media Management: Oversee the management and strategy of all corporate social media channels, ensuring consistent and engaging content that amplifies company awareness and solidifies its reputation amongst key stakeholders.
  • Digital Innovation: Stay ahead of digital trends and introduce innovative ways to leverage social media and digital content for corporate and business storytelling targeting key opinion leaders throughout Europe.
  • Digital Content Creation: Lead the creation of digital content, managing multiple stakeholders and agencies to ensure we have one, compelling tone of voice throughout OLX’s social media posts, blogs, and multimedia collateral.
  • Institutional Image: Ensure consistent, clear, and compelling institutional messaging across all channels, aligning with OLX's vision and values.
  • Crisis Management: Upgrade and execute OLX’s crisis communication book to safeguard OLX's reputation during sensitive situations.
  • Performance Analytics: Monitor and analyze performance metrics to optimize communication strategies and make data-driven decisions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and aligned communication and social media efforts.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in PR and digital strategy, with a proven track record of managing successful global campaigns.
  • Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills; proficiency in utilizing digital marketing and social media analytics tools.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of global media landscapes, emphasising Europe, public relations best practices, and emerging digital trends.
  • Attributes: Open-minded, stakeholder management skills, innovative thinker, results-driven, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Education: University degree in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
